Crossing The Line Arc GIS Activity

The country that I chose for splitting was Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The countries that I chose for merging were Azerbaijan and Iran.
The reason for DRC to split is because of language differences.  The blue on the map is the provinces and the lines are where the main languages are and where they want to split.(Like the picture below)  The reason for Iran and Azerbaijan merging is because they have the potential to break down otherwise.
I based the map on cultural features of languages.  The languages were Swahili, Kikongo, Tshiluba, and Lingala.
This would impact DRC by making these provinces different and having to change all of the borders and boundaries.  Each country would have to come up with their own military.  This would impact Iran and Azerbaijan by giving it more land to try and protect and giving it more water space for trade.
